High Points

MHAA Qld Highpoints System

MHAA Queensland currently has in place a system where by Members are rewarded for attending shows and competing successfully, this is called MHAA Queensland Highpoints.

Highpoints are not only available for horses competing in Halter classes, but also for  those competing in:

Performance (which consists of Trail and Hunter)

Jumping (which covers Show Jumping and Six Bar)

Harness (including all harness classes except Touch of Class)

Youth may also be entered for Highpoint awards.

They are entered by age, the age groups being:

                Youth Under 8 years

                Youth 9 to 12 years

                Youth 13 to 18 Years

Competing in Youth classes for Showmanship, Trail, Hunter and Harness.

The Highpoint Season commences on the 1st August each year and finishes on the 31st July the following year.

Both the Agricultural and MHAA organized shows for the year are designated into one of three different types;

“A” Class shows – normal points

“AA” Class shows – all points are double the value

“B” Class or Open shows – all points are worth half the  value

Therefore, basically the more shows you attend the more points you have the potential to gain.

However, only points gained after the date you nominate and have been receipted by MHAA Qld Committee will be eligible.

COST:  $20.00 per category  (as of 1st August 2010)

Only shows in Queensland are eligible for Qld High Points.

Futurities and Classics are ineligible for Qld High Points.

The points awarded for each placing (regardless of the number of entries in the class) are:

At the end of the Highpoint season all nominated horses points are added to find the Top 5 place getters in each category. The winner and place getter from each category will receive a prize. The Top 5 placegetters will also receive a certificate. There is also a special overall award for the highest points achieved by both a Miniature and Small Horse. These points are accumulated from Halter and Performance (hunter & trail).

These awards will be presented formally to the winners at the Annual High Point Dinner at the end of the year. This is a fun event and a good opportunity to meet and talk with other Miniature owners.

All places and points will be correlated by the Highpoint  Co-Ordinator and published both on this website (on the Show Results page) and in Mini Matters.   It is the responsibility of the owner to check that all placing’s are correct.  Entrants will have up to one month prior to the presentation of the Highpoint Awards to inform the Committee of any errors, otherwise the placing’s will stand as is for the sake of the Highpoint calculations.

To be eligible to enter the horse must be nominated by the owner in each category they wish to enter.  Post the Nomination Form along with the fee of $20.00 per category, to the MHAA Qld Treasurer.

Cheque or Money Order payments to be made payable to: Miniature Horse Association Qld (NOT MHAA Qld).   Payment can also be Direct Debited, but original nomination form must be received by MHAA Qld Treasurer.

Again, only points gained after the receipt of fees will be counted.

HIGHPOINT SCORE SHEETS

Highpoint Score sheets to be submitted before the 14th of the next month.  This is so we can publish results.  Basically it means, that before the 14th of July (for example), you must have your points for June submitted.  The same goes for each month.  Simply keep your results sheets up to date and this will be easy to achieve.  There is no need to have your Highpoints sheets counter signed if your are unable to.  We believe that everyone is trustworthy.

These forms will be issued once payment for Highpoints has been received and are also available on the MHAA Qld Website, Forms section.

These forms must be sent to the Highpoint Co-Ordinator, not the Treasurer.

PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT THE HIGHPOINT CO-ORDINATOR IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR QUERIES REGARDING THE HIGHPOINT SYSTEM OR RESULTS.

The nomination form is able to be down loaded from our Forms page of this website.
